MICROCURRENT
THERAPY
Microcurrent therapy is the latest in electro–acupuncture.
Dr. Dan has successfully used this form of therapy to treat
all sorts of situational or chronic pain in the body from
muscle and joint pain to migraine headaches.
Dr. Dan has used microcurrent stimulation in his practice
for years. The stimulator used by Dr. Dan is a hand-held device
that is FDA approved. It safely produces small but significant
currents of electricity.
Dr. Dan can use the microcurrent stimulator to detect and
treat areas of increased conductivity (low impedance) such
as areas of injury and active trigger points.
How It Actually Works
Dr. Dan uses this technology to stimulate specific points
on the skin, which helps to reduce the firing of pain signals
from the nerve endings. The microcurrent stimulator has a
computer chip inside that detects areas of increased conductivity
on the surface of the body, as typically found with active
acupuncture points. The amount of electricity introduced into
the body is very similar to the amount that the body uses
to stay alive. The treatment is painless, but many patients
report unusual sensations in other parts of the body that
are not being directly treated.
Benefits
Dr. Dan has found this type of treatment, along with chiropractic
spinal adjustments, to be helpful with migraine headaches,
low back pain, sciatica, sports injuries, and repetetive motion
disorders, along with other bodily dysfunctions.
