| QUALITY CONTROL Quality is our Tradition
Quality is an integral part of every step in our process. Standard Process whole food supplements meet and exceed the most demanding quality standards. We follow Good Manufacturing Practices, which were written specifically for the dietary supplement industry.
Our quality control methods ensure that the foods that eventually become Standard Process supplements are rich in nutrients and synergistic micronutrients. Testing throughout our manufacturing process enables us to maintain critical processing control points to ensure quality and safety.
Normally, a product is tested between six and eight times throughout the manufacturing process. Every week, trained scientists in our full-scale microbiology and chemistry laboratories perform as many as 400 tests on raw materials, product batches, and finished products. We use testing procedures approved by the Association of Analytical Communities (AOAC).
Standard Process takes great pride in its quality assurance program. Our team of trained microbiologists and chemists work hard to guarantee our customers receive the best quality products on the market today.
Testing Stage One
Before anything is grown or processed at our local farm, we test the mineral and nutrient levels of the soil. Our quality standards demand that the soil be rich in minerals and humus. No chemical fertilizers or pesticides are ever used in the organic growing process.
Testing Stage Two
Before the manufacturing process begins, scientists in our microbiology laboratory sample and test raw materials that will be used in our whole food supplements.
Testing Stage Three
Standard Process' chemists perform assays on all raw materials and product batches to determine the vitamin and mineral content. These assays guarantee that our label claims are accurate and that maximum nutrition is being delivered.
Testing Stage Four
After the tableting and bottling process, physical tests are performed on the products. Tablets are monitored for hardness, size, weight, moisture, and water activity. Hardness and moisture testing ensures that tablets remain intact throughout the packaging and shipping process. Disintegration tests are run on tablets to make sure they dissolve within the USP time specification. This ensures that the patient will be able to digest and absorb the nutrients quickly and easily. Powders and capsules are monitored for moisture and consistency. The weight of all products is tested to guarantee that label claims are met.
